The Magic of Monterey
Hyatt Regency Monterey
Hotel & Spa
Long before the hit show “Big Little Lies” put the spotlight on Monterey’s upscale community, the region has been recognized as one of the most scenic destinations along California’s Central Coast. Golf enthusiasts are well-acquainted with the area since it’s peppered with world-class courses, some of which have hosted national tournaments and events.
But the Monterey Peninsula is so much more than just a golf region located in a beautiful area. With historic spots like Cannery Row, the Aquarium and the famed 17-Mile Drive (considered one of the most breathtaking drives in the State of California), there is never an absence of recreation options. A stay at the Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel & Spa on Del Monte Golf Course can help assure an enjoyable travel experience, given the variety of activities available to guests.
Surrounded by 22 acres of Monterey pines, the Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel & Spa is as serene as it is lively; it’s an unruffled destination but can be bustling with activity. On site, there is a full-service racquet club, two pools, Jacuzzis, a 2000 square-foot fitness center, a 12,000 square-foot full service spa, tennis courts, amusement for kids and of course … golf! Guests can also rent bicycles to explore the lovely grounds or walk the trails that lead to Cannery Row.
Conveniently located close to downtown Monterey and Monterey Airport, The Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel & Spa offers easy access to some of the Peninsula’s most well-known attractions.
The hotel boasts 550 guestrooms including 32 suites, and the President’s House, which makes it a great option for both leisure and business travelers.
Foodies can appreciate the assorted dining options located on the property: TusCA, the spacious and newly renovated farm-to-table bistro is an elegant space with an open kitchen and exquisite gourmet cuisine. The menu features rustic, locally sourced dishes, sustainable seafood and meats, organic produce and artisanal cheeses, creatively presented with delectable sauces and dressings.
The Fireplace Lounge, where the stone fireplace is the central focus, presents unique fare such as the Tuna Poke Nachos with sweet wakame seaweed, spicy sriracha aioli and wasabi. Live jazz is presented every weekend by some of Monterey Peninsula’s finest musicians, which combined with the luscious food, sets the tone for an exuberant experience.
Knuckles Sports Bar provides a more casual menu in a setting surrounded by golf and sports memorabilia. Wide, flat screen TVs surround the room as a popcorn machine produces an endless quantity of fresh-popped munchies. Signature cocktails, craft beers and a variety of wines flow to help keep guests entertained and hydrated. The casual vibe makes the perfect setting in which to catch up with old friends or make new ones.
The Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel & Spa is also a fabulous venue at which to celebrate special occasions. The Regency Grand Ballroom, the largest in the county, can host anything from a wedding to a business conference for 600 people. Newly renovated, the huge space features high ceilings and teal and beige décor, which replicates Monterey’s coastal color palette. The adjoining foyer opens to a terrace with a retractable awning, perfect for an indoor/outdoor pre-event social session or reception.
A smaller crowd can party in the Monterey Ballroom which can accommodate up to 400 guests or can be reduced to accommodate as few as 25. While the Regency highlights the sea and sky motif, the Monterey reflects the region’s mountains and meadows.
Open-air receptions can be celebrated on the Garden Terrace, which can also be tented if needed. A bridal party and guests may reserve the rooms overlooking this courtyard, which is a convenient walk to the ceremony. Newlyweds receive a complimentary suite for their wedding night.
Whether a large event or a quiet getaway, The Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel & Spa is a traveler’s best bet for an amazing Monterey experience.
