The perfect blend of nature and luxury

HorseTail Ranch in Paso Robles

The idea of vacationing at a ranch may summon images of rowdy barnyard animals roaming wild in your personal space, but a visit to HorseTail Ranch will quickly change that picture. In the trendy wine region of Paso Robles, HorseTail Ranch is nestled in the town of Creston, just a 4-hour drive from the Los Angeles area. Unlike a classic rural ranch, HorseTail is the perfect blend of nature and luxury.

The 150-acre property in Central California consists of rolling hills with spectacular 360 degree views, a posh 5-bedroom, 4 ½-bath Villa, a cozy cabin, a lake and stables with 14 horses ready to rent for a customized ride. And yes, there are barnyard animals – a pig, chickens, donkeys, a miniature horse and a friendly goat named Hitch. Far from rowdy, they are loveable, engaging and a significant part of the overall setting.
The 3500-square foot upscale Villa is spacious with high ceilings, contemporary design, a modern kitchen and exquisite furnishings. There is a hot tub in the yard where guests can unwind, sip wine and take in the stunning views of the vast landscape. There’s a fire pit, hanging lights, and plenty of seating, providing a prime backdrop for entertaining or simply relaxing. The Villa is an ideal site for a wedding, romantic escape or a home to share with another family, given that it sleeps 12 comfortably.
With amenities such as 72-inch plasma TVs, a Keurig coffee maker, a fireplace, Wi-Fi, a wine fridge, washer & dryer and comfy beds with plush bedding, The Villa is a top pick for those seeking a deluxe, well-appointed getaway.

For a fewer number of guests, The Cabin, which sleeps four, offers a rustic 1,000 foot space that includes one bedroom, a small bath and kitchen, and an open loft. It’s homey and comfortable and makes a charming honeymoon destination. Adjacent to The Cabin is a large, outdoor dining area with a gas barbeque, perfect for dinner beneath the striking Paso Robles sunsets.

Guests have plenty to do while visiting HorseTail: There’s hiking, wine-tasting in and around Paso, world-class restaurants, limo tours, and of course the horse-back riding at the Central Coast Trailrides on the property.

Owned by Crystal and Brian Hallet who also manage HorseTail Ranch, the Central Coast Trailrides offers the best way to explore the region. Brian and Crystal can take guests off-site on horse-back for coastal or vineyard rides, or stay on the HorseTail property and tour its expansive terrain. The horses are well-behaved and know the trails well and the experience is wonderful for adults as well as kids.

With so much to offer, HorseTail Ranch is the quintessential getaway and its close proximity to Southern California makes it an easy destination to even if you only have a few days to drop by.
