The Telluride Summer Experience

Telluride is located in Southwestern Colorado in the San Juan Mountains, and with an elevation of 8,750 feet is surrounded by 13,000 to 14,000-foot peaks. The town of Telluride and Mountain Village are connected by a 13-minute free gondola ride. The landscape is a perfect setting in which to hike, bike, fly fish, and rock climb, and where visitors can enjoy scenic trails, beautiful streams and spectacular sights.

“ROPES & RUNGS” ADVENTURE PACKAGE
Exclusive Summer Alpine Package Available June 1 – Sept. 30, 2018
This new package offers a guided Via Ferrata guided rock-climb on an exposed ladder and cable system to explore the vertical territory of Ophir Valley, just outside of Telluride. This rigorous rock canyon is a great place to learn or sharpen one’s rock climbing skills and is designed for all ages and abilities, although not recommended for those with a fear of heights.

The Hotel Telluride’s new “Ropes & Rungs” package includes a 3-night stay in a Signature King or Double room (with a private balcony overlooking the San Juan Mountains), daily breakfast for two, a full-day guided Via Ferrata climb and a full-day rock climbing adventure. Both days are complete with a packed picnic lunch.

“Crack a Coors on Wilson Peak” Package
Available from July 1 – September 15, 2018 (based on availability and weather conditions; blackout dates apply)
This is for the trailblazer looking for an alpine challenge, complete with a cold classic brew at Wilson Peak following the climb.

“Crack a Coors on Wilson Peak” package includes three-night stay in a Signature King or Double a private, guided tour by the San Juan Outdoor Adventures, a fully insured USDA Forest Service permitted outfitter located in Telluride. Considered a challenging day climb (the trail encompasses Class 3 and Class 4 sections) climbers must be physically fit to ascend. Guests will be guided to the summit of Wilson Peak where they will enjoy a packed lunch by The Hotel Telluride and crack open their choice of a Coors Banquet or Coors Light.

As part of the package, tired hikers can each enjoy a refreshing 60-minute spa treatment (choice of massage or facial) during their stay.

“Mountains & Morels” Package

Colorado is home to 2,000 to 3,000 mushroom varieties and has the second-largest concentration in the country after the Pacific Northwest. This package offers a guided tour by Tara Butson, a local resident and co-owner of San Juan Outdoor Adventures who has been foraging mushrooms in the Telluride area for more than 12 years. She takes guests on a half-day adventure in the San Juan Mountains to forage for an array of indigenous mushrooms including Chanterelle, Morel and King Bolete (Porcini).

Tara teaches what to look for and provides instruction about mushroom varietals. In the early afternoon, guests enjoy an alpine lunchtime break with a packed lunch prepared by The Hotel Telluride. Upon returning, the hotel’s culinary team, led by Executive Chef Chad Glidewell, will demonstrate how to clean the mushrooms the guests collected and create a personalized private 3-course mushroom-themed dinner with wine pairing.

The “Mountains and Morels” package includes a 3-night stay in one of The Hotel Telluride’s Elite View rooms (King or Double), a mushroom cutting knife and a book on San Juan Colorado-area mushrooms, daily breakfast for two and a private transfer to and from The Hotel Telluride and Lizard Head wilderness area.

“Best in Show” Pet Package
Available through December 31, 2018

Telluride has nearly as many canine residents as human ones and is emphatically pet-friendly. The Hotel Telluride offers this package to pets and their people and there is no size or weight limit, so furry friends of all types are welcome.

The package includes A two-night stay in a Signature King or Double at The Hotel Telluride, a personalized pet welcome at the front desk’s doggie chalk board, homemade treats for four-legged guests upon arrival, dog bed with in-room Hotel Telluride custom place mat and food and water bowls, a tennis or bouncy ball (dog’s choice), one Kong Wild Knots chew toy, one flashlight collar clip, eco-friendly pet disposal bags and a list of nearby dog-friendly activities.

Pets visiting The Hotel Telluride are welcome in all areas of the hotel (with the exception of The West End Bistro, the main restaurant on property). On behalf of its canine guests, The Hotel Telluride makes a small donation in the pet’s name to homeless animals at Second Chance Humane Society located in nearby in Ridgeway, Colorado.

The Hotel Telluride can also arrange for pet-sitting and/or pet-walking services (additional fees apply) throughout the year.
